Our 2023 Sauvignon Blanc grapes were sourced once again from the Briarwood Vineyard in the Templeton Gap district. The beautiful fruit was hand harvested and upon arrival at the winery, the look, smell and taste of the berries were perfect! After fermentation, we transferred the wine to steel barrels to retain a clean, crisp flavor profile. The wine was aged on the lees for 4 months to soften the mouthfeel and enhance the flavors. The resulting wine is pale in color - almost clear, as it's name would imply - and is both delicate and refreshing with light grassy aromas and subtle, stone fruit flavors.
The fruit for our 2023 single vineyard Albariño was sourced once again from the Laird Vineyard, located at the Northern tip of Santa Barbara county. The Laird fruit is consistently excellent and the 2023 vintage was no exception.
We pressed whole clusters to tank and after a 20 day cold fermentation, we racked the wine to steel barrels. The wine sat for 4 months "sur lie" (on the lees) to create a bright, crisp wine with refreshing tropical fruit notes and a slightly creamy mouthfeel.
The Assassin has been our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon based blend since the inaugural 2010 vintage. 2021 marked the very first Reserve bottling of The Assassin.
For this Reserve bottling we selected Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from a single Paso Robles vineyard, located in the coveted Willow Creek District. The wine was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The wine was aged in bottle for an additional 12 months before its initial, exclusive release to our club members. We are pleased to report that The Assassin Reserve is now available to everyone. However, only 75 cases were produced so don't wait to long to secure yours!
We are of the opinion that this may be the best vintage of The Conspirator so far. We will leave the final judgement to you of course but may we suggest that you don't wait too long to order? The scarcity of this exceptional wine is far from a sketchy conspiracy theory - only 50 cases were produced,
