2021 Infiltrator

93% Petite Sirah, 5% Grenache, 2% Petit Verdot

91 POINTS - Wine Enthusiast

The last time we produced The Infiltrator blend was for the 2017 vintage. Since that time, we have been more focused on our Bordeaux program and with our limited production capacity, we can't always make all the wines we would like to. But when one of our favorite vineyards, the Briarwood Vineyard in Paso's Templeton Gap District, offered us a couple of tons of their beautiful Petite Sirah grapes, we couldn't resist. So once again, this Petite Sirah based blend has quite literally infiltrated our line up and we are pleased to offer it to you for the 2021 vintage.

"Opaque in the glass, this bottling, which includes 5% Grenache and 2% Petit Verdot, begins with aromas of blueberry, licorice and coffee cake on the nose. Dense and creamy on the palate, the sip is jampacked with liquified lilac and blueberry flavors." ~ Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

We would add that while this wine's dense, seductive color, deep aromas and luscious, mouthwatering flavors are hard to resist, we would highly recommend cellaring a few bottles for another 5 to 7 years. We think the investment in additional bottle time will pay significant dividends.
